Description

Liquid magnesium supplement for reef aquariums

 

Tropic Marin® Bio-Magnesium Liquid enables a highly efficient magnesium supplementation to the aquarium while still maintaining the ionic balance.

In a reef aquarium the concentration of magnesium decreases quickly through biological processes, precipitation and the use by calcareous animals.It is one of the major constituents of saltwater and it is directly involved in algae photosynthesis, i.e. the conversion of carbon dioxide (CO2) and light into organic compounds.

The natural concentration of magnesium in saltwater is 1280-1300 ppm. If the magnesium concentration is below the natural level, it should be replenished with Bio-Magnesium Liquid to enable a healthy coral growth.

Application and dosage


Bio-Magnesium Liquid can be added to the tank water either directly or by a dosing pump. Calculate the total system water volume, taking care to take into account the volume of live rock, external filters and sump tanks present. The addition of ½ fl.oz./15 ml will raise the magnesium level of 10 US-gal./38 l by approx. 21 mg/l (ppm).

Maximum recommended dose is ½ fl.oz./15 ml per 10 US-gal./38 l of aquarium water per day.

To refill the bottle you can fill up 16 oz./450 g crystalline Bio-Magnesium with reverse osmosis water to 0.26 US-gal./1 liter solution.
